Text Box: I’ll start with a huge thank you to everyone who turned up on the weekend of the Frank Williams Competition and helped make it such a success. Jennifer with a lot of help from Julie and Lynette filled in the rota and everything seemed to go very smoothly. The competition was not too warm, the large fans seemed to help a bit and all finished on time. No trophies for Stockport this year, but very close. I think we may have even made some money. August is a quiet month as we shut the gym on Sundays. 2 reasons for this. Coaches generally have their holidays and secondly, families, if not on holiday, take advantage of the weather for days out and we struggle Text Box: Gym opening August Open all sessions (except Sundays) with the following exceptions: Monday 27th Aug; Bank Holiday August Closed on every Sunday, everyone is on holiday, no coaches and not many to shift kit. There will be a fun day on one of the Sundays, look out for the date, which won’t be announced until the last minute. Oh and it has been known to rain. Text Box: September 22nd/23rd NWGA Age Groups and Novice/Level 3/Level 4 Teams at Birchwood. This date will come very quickly so the older gymnasts should be polishing their routines now. Sept 29th/30th & Oct 6th/7th North West Club Judge and Regional Judging Course, probably in Bolton. This is still a provisional date and subject to confirmation. Text Box: November 17th/18th NWGA Age Groups and Novice/Level 3/Level 4 Individual Championship at Birchwood. This is only for Bev and Phil’s groups. 2nd/3rd February 2008 GMGA Grades at Fit City. Grades 5 and 6 make sure you are not away on holiday. It is not at half term this year. The Grades 4 to 1 will be in March, probably at Birchwood as per the Individuals this year. Text Box: to put kit away. So enjoy the break. We have to put the entries in for the Team Challenge on 24th August, so there is a chance that gymnasts will be away when the team is being selected. I would ask that if you know that you are going to be away on the weekend of the competition, 22nd/23rd Sept, then let Phil know. This applies only to gymnasts in Bev and Phil’s groups. We welcome one new gymnasts into the club, Olivia Fletcher, who was invited in after the Frank Williams Competition and trained at Avondale. Good luck.
