A weekend of fun and games. 10th May GM Floor and Vault Championship at Fit City, Salford 11th May GM 4 Piece competition at Fit City, Salford. Text Box: The big news is the arrival of Ashley Parker’s baby girl, Liberty. Mother and baby doing well! Ashley brought Liberty into the gym at the end of January for all to admire. Ok Ashley, maternity leave over, come back to coaching.! There are lots of offers to look after Liberty while you coach. February is the start of the competition season and we started with a Greater Manchester Champion, Chloe Astley and a gymnast selected as member of the Greater Manchester Squad, Isobelle Blissett. There were many other good performances in the GM Grades, Text Box: Gym opening February Open all sessions with the exception of Sunday Feb 3rd. 2nd/3rd February GM Grades 5 and 6 at Salford to select the GM team. Pre-Grade 6 and Grade 4 championships are also on this weekend. 17th February The Bolton Competition at Salford. This is going to be mainly for 2 piece gymnasts. Details are available on the website and on the notice board in the gym. Text Box: 23rd February Manual Handling course at Dialstone. Learn how to lift and carry safely. 1st/2nd March NWGA Grades for 4, 3, 2 and 1 and the 5 & 6 finals. To be held at Birchwood. The higher levels lead to National finals so time to train hard. 30th March Stockport 4 piece competition. Normally called the Easter Comp, but a little later this year. This may be a little soon for younger gymnasts to get their routines ready. Text Box: read all about it on page 2. The calendar is starting to fill up with dates for competitions and other events, we have coaches on level 1 courses, new coaches in the gym and we are starting to form a link with a Cheerleading club. Busy times, but do get involved. We will be running a manual handling course later in the months, so learn how to lift safely. We have some dates for the twinning visit from Armentieres so get prepared to host a gymnast form France. We need 15 volunteer families this year.
