Text Box: Short this month as the May newsletter was a little late. As we move through the exam period and into holidays, it is likely that we will see fewer gymnasts and coaches in the sessions. Please do let your coaches know when you will be away, so we can plan accordingly. A holiday chart will be on the board soon as people seem to go away anytime from now through to September. We will also announce when the gym will be open during August in the July newsletter, traditionally we close on Sundays.
June events are centred on the NW Floor and Vault Comp and the Display at Lower Park School. Apart from that it looks like a good month to get some serious work done in the gym.
July has competitions and our major event of the year, the Frank Williams Competition. This weekend will need your help, so look our for the rota.
Did you see the May copy of the Gymnast? On page 56 there was an article about the Text Box: Gym opening June
Open all sessions. There will be shortened sessions on Sunday 3rd June, when we will be closing at 12.00 due to the Floor and Vault Comp and we will be at Lower Park School on Saturday 30th June, rather than in the gym.

Text Box: GMGA 2007 squad and a picture of Jade Hollick. Not often that SSoG gets a mention in the National Magazine. There is a copy in the gym.
There have been a number of accidents in the gym recently that have required visits to hospital. Two have happened at competitions, with quite straightforward moves, round off and cat leap full. We have had a dislocated bone in a wrist, which required an operation, again off a round off. We do keep a good record of accidents and report all hospital visits to BG and look at the statistics at every committee meeting to look for trends. We also have run courses to ensure coaches are aware of first aid procedures. However with the high frequency in the last month we will be looking much harder at the specifics to make sure that we are doing all we can with our coaching to ensure that accidents are minimised.
