Text Box: The main event of September was the Novice Teams competition at Birchwood. Lessons have been learned! The setting up of a single training group before the competition was a good feature, but the way that the team, as a group, went to pieces on the beam, and the remaining pieces needs to be fixed. Good individual performances from Leandra Brennan and Laura Sefton. Nice picture of Emily doing a split leap to the right, not the pointed toe and curved front leg. Looks quite high too. There have been a number of new gymnasts coming into the club on trail, some from the recreational sessions, some from other clubs through the Frank Williams competition and the biggest number for the Poynton Club, together with Lynzi Humpheys. Too many names to mention, so welcome to all new gymnasts and we will name Text Box: Gym opening October Open all sessions. Sept 29th/30th & Oct 6th North West Club Judge and Regional Judge Course, in Bolton. 13th/14th October The West View 2 and 4 piece Competition was due to be this weekend, Text Box: but has been cancelled due to injuries...to the organising coaches. November 17th/18th NWGA Pre-Novice and Novice/Level 3/Level 4 Individual Championship at Birchwood. December ? The Bolton 2 piece competition that Text Box: names once they are invited to train permanently. At last there has been a coaching course advertised in the region, a Level 2, Club Coach, course at CMIG. So far only Cathy Healy wanting to attend. There will be a Level1, Assistant, hopefully before the end of the year and I know we have a number of coaches interested. The last weekend in September sees the club and regional judging courses in Bolton, Good luck to all those taking part, Bev and Phil I think. The other event that you may be interested in during October is the ‘Your Sport, Your Say’ meeting at Lancashire Cricket Club on the 16th. This is our chance to tell English Gymnastics how we would like to see the sport developing. Text Box: normally takes place in December is cancelled. The organiser cannot get the equipment on the usual day so it will take place in April 2008. 22nd December The Club Championship and Christmas Recreational Competitions to be held at Dialstone. Last event of the year and followed by the Christmas Party.
